Sorry it took so long, I ended up starting it, then getting distracted by other work and, well, you know how it is… It’s nothing too fancy, but you kind of get the gist of what I’ve aimed the actual documentary to be. If that makes sense? I hope you like it.
(Pssst, watch it in HD if you can…)
And Svenja, if you’re reading and watching this; I’m so sorry I used the footage of you crying, but it really is great footage! And you did sign the release form…..
I’m getting there guys, I’m on the last few hurdles!
In theory, all I have left to do is;
The narration,
The ‘final scene’,
Collect/get permission to use a few more images and pieces of art and
Tiny editing tweaks here and there.
The learning report and journal side of this is practically done. I just need to cut it down a bit as I’m currently about 600 words over the limit…. Oops. But other than that… The light at the end of the tunnel is just about in reach! :D
If anyone has anything Supernatural related they would like to share (any type of art, cosplay, tattoos, videos, crafts, etc…) for the documentary, please let me know or send it my way!
Art wise, I’ve gotten permission to use some of my friends art and cosplay as well as a few pieces by the very talented dreadelion. But you know me, I’m greedy for more awesome stuff the fandom has produced to put in my project.
I’ve been busy with uni and GISHWHES, so yeah… Sorry for the lack of updates.
I’ve done a lot more research for my learning journal and report and I’m pretty certain I’ve developed my final question for my project;
How does one produce a work of fan medium (made by fans, for fans by implementing both a documentary structure and techniques without infringing upon any copyright?
It’s still a very rough question I think, but, essentially, that is it what I’m using as a base for my written aspect of the project from this point onwards. What do you guys think?
Also, to everyone who is willing to film themselves answering questions/demonstrating their love for the show or fandom/etc…, please note that, come December 31st, I will not be accepting any more footage/artwork/fan fiction/etc… So, if you want to be a part of this documentary, please get your rears in gear.
I can’t get anybody I know to go with me to Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday for item number 30 because everybody has to work in the morning on Monday and lives too far away to get much sleep. If it’s anything like the Pasadena event last year, Misha will be there.
I will be driving from Portland, OR. If anybody is along the way (Portland, Vancouver WA, Tacoma, Seattle, whatever) and wants to carpool, I’d be open to it! It’d be nice if some people would pitch in for gas but I have a very comfortable minivan I can drive and if you can arrange to be close to the freeway so I don’t have to drive out into the suburbs or something we could make the trip a lot more fun and more people that don’t have a ride could go. I probably have about six seats available.
Dear everyone who follows me and members of the fandoms I belong to;
It’s that time of year again; GISHWHES is upon us.
