“The witching hour approaches;
but be my guest, my dear…
Walk into my parlor…”
((yet another quick Hyde!Ples sketch))
((might as well make my sketch-replies rebloggable for the HinaBN-crowd))
look guys I made art happen

“Time has taken its toll on you, old friend.
Tired? … I should think so.
Poor, poor Tibenoch;
Life is not long enough to be lived twice.”
Ples’ role as “Janus” within the comic continuity:
Ples is the gatekeeper, regulating change, beginnings and endings.
As such, he serves as a guardian between what has been and what will be; he basically supervises the pace of the plot.
In order for Hanna and Zombie to get to the bottom of the mystery and uncover the greater mysteries tied to the plot, they must first cross a threshold from that which is mundane into that which is greater than themselves. Ples’ appearance in the comic suggested that a great escalation in stakes was about to happen and that Hanna and crew are closer to being ready to find the bigger answers.
The “experiment” Ples speaks about as he draws his gun refers to finding out whether or not they are ready for such high stakes; to see if they are worthy to progress into the greater scheme.
The unfortunate part is that they confronted Ples in his night-role, the face that only sees the past. He therefore knows what they have been through, but not if they will be worthy. He therefore tests them on their friendship, since this is their greatest virtue and strength (and apparently holds importance and/or relevance to their ability to unravel the mysteries in the end).
Day-Ples knows that they will be, and would assume his role as god of beginnings, guiding them into a new chapter of their quest… (his reluctance to help them in the first place suggests that major character death and/or suffering will occur because of the actions that they will inevitably make if he helps them progress the plot)
However, since this is Night-Ples, perceiving only the past and NOT the future; he pulls out a gun and undertakes the role of endings…
Ples controls the pace of progression and change, always. Either by beginning something - or by ending it.

“POOOOR TIBENOCH!”
Fanart of Ples Tibenoch I made.
Hanna is Not a Boy’s Name belongs to Tessa Stone.
I made this for two of the most wonderful people inkypop and cloud-killed-by-doors. This took three days to make, I used a pencil, lining pens, a black sharpie, and two copic markers.
